2010

The second Eurociett Stakeholders Conference took place in June 2010. Under the Conference theme "Europe 2020: From strategy to action", policy makers and stakeholders discussed the contribution of the agency work industry to reaching the Europe 2020 Employment targets
 

Hudson has joint Eurociett as new corporate member

2009

For the FYR of Macedonia, a new national federation has been accepted as Eurociett member, replacing the previous associated member.
 

Agency work has been recognised as an essential intermediary in the framework of the European Commission's "New Skills for New Jobs Initiative", which also included a call for developing cooperation between public employment services and private employment agencies.
 

A cooperation has been established with DG Employment of the European Commission for providing a regular contribution to the Commission's monthly labour market monitor, which covers updated information on labour market developments in EU Member States.

2008

Slovenia joined Eurociett as 27^th national federation member.
 

The EU Directive on temporary agency work has been adopted European level, following several years of controversial debate and deadlock. The two sectoral social partners for the temporary agency work sector, Eurociett & Uni-Europa, contributed to the final phase of the debate through a joint declaration signed in May 2008.
 

The two sectoral social partners Eurociett and Uni-Europa conducted a joint research project on the access to vocational training for temporary agency workers and presented the results at a stakeholders conference.
 

A new report on "Temporary Agency Work and Collective Bargaining" conducted by Eurofound on request of Eurociett and Uni-Europa, has been published.

2007

The EU Debate on Flexicurity recognised the positive contribution of agency work to well-functioning labour markets. The two sectoral social partners Eurociett & Uni-Europa signed a joint declaration in the framework of the Flexicurity debate.
 

The Strategic Research Report "More work opportunities for more people - Unlocking the positive contribution of private employment agencies to better functioning labour markets" commissioned by Eurociett has been published. 
 

Olympia Flexgroup joined Eurociett as new Corporate Member. In Italy, the former Eurociett member federation has been replaced by Assolavoro, following the merger of three national federations to one, strong and representative body.

2006

Hungary, Macedonia and Slovakia joined Eurociett as members.
 

Eurociett adopted a new Code of Conduct, which expresses the shared values of the Eurociett members.

2005

Eurociett has been established as a non-profit making association under Belgian law.

The Czech Republic joined Eurociett as a member.

2004

Annemarie Muntz, European Director for Public Affairs of Vedior, elected as Eurociett President

Eurociett has set up a permanent secretariat in Brussels to promote the interests of the agency work industry.

2003

The Task Force reviewingn the achievement of the Lisbon Stratey (Kok Report: "Jobs, Jobs, Jobs - Creating more employment in Europe) highlighted that "Temporary work agencies should have their place in a modern labour market as new intermediaries that can support flexibility and mobility of firms and workers, while offering security for workers. [...] Removing obstacles to temporary agency work could significantly support job opportunities and job matching."

2001

Eurociett/Uni-Europa published a Joint Declaration on the draft Agency Work Directive stating that it “should have as fundamental aim to reach a fair balance between the protection of agency workers and enhancing the positive role that agency work may play in the European labour market”.

2000

Eurociett initiated and published a strategic report carried out by McKinsey on the Agency Work industry’s potential contribution to the Lisbon employment objectives.
Eurociett entered into a European sectoral social dialogue along with Uni-Europa.

1992

Eurociett urged the European Commission to file a complaint against Italy, Spain and Germany after which these countries gradually liberalised their agency work regulations: Spain (1994), Italy (1997+ Biaggi amendment 2003), Germany (1992-1997, 2004 Hartz reforms). As an aftermath, several other EU countries legally recognised Agency Work: Greece (1999), Finland (1993), Sweden (1993) and The Netherlands (1998 and further liberalisation in 2003).
